Hi there! My name is Jesse and I am honoured to lead the UNLSA as President in 2021. This year, I'm looking forward to maximising engagement with both our members and stakeholders. I am excited for the new partnerships and initiatives we have planned this year, to help maximise the law school experience at UoN, and provide our members with as many opportunities as we can!
Vice President (Competitions)
I am currently in my fifth year of Law School and am keen to jump into our next year of competitions, especially after the tumultuous 2020 we have had. These competitions will be a great way to meet new people and learn new skills as well as to boost your resume.
One of my goals for 2021 is to increase student participation in these events. To achieve this, I am actively working with Directors of Skills and Advocacy as well as other members of the UNLSA to organise both, traditional Law School competitions as well as new and exciting opportunities for our members.
If you have any concerns, questions or new proposals, please feel free to contact me! I can be contacted by email and phone and am always open to fresh suggestions.
Vice President (Education)
I am a fourth year law student and cannot wait to kick off the 2021 Education Portfolio Program! I highly value the integral connections I have made within the society, university and with local professionals and want to continue this high standard for future students. Danial and Tahlia are the ears of your concerns this year, as our JD and LLB Student Representatives, they are available to guide you in the right direction - they can be found at the UNLSA fortnightly coffee stall or via email!
In the meantime, I can be caught most of the time on the luxurious orange chair on Level 8 (as it's my favourite spot in NUSpace), or via email or phone! Feel free to contact me to express concerns or propose ideas, looking forward to it!
Vice President (Events)
Hi everyone! My name is Tomika Hillebrand and I am the Vice President of Events for the UNLSA for 2021. I'm really lucky because a big part of my role entails working within a team of really awesome individuals. I oversee the execution of incredible events like the Interfaculty Sports Day and Start of Semester Drinks that are a great way to get to know new people and make a few friends along the way. I am also responsible for a few bigger events the UNLSA is known for like Law Ball and Valedictory Dinner!
As we move further away from the pandemic year of 2020 and move closer to a social life that resembles one preceding Covid-19, I want to make the events for this year as welcoming and enjoyable as possible. With a flair for extravagance and the extraordinary, I can assure you that your events are safe with me.
Vice President (Finance)
Welcome! I am responsible for the handling and allocation of the UNLSA’s funds. This involves organising our budget, handling day to day financial transactions, and ensuring that the UNLSA is viable through rigorous financial advice.
Vice President (Marketing)
Hi! I’m a fourth year law student who just graduated Communications, majoring in Journalism. I’m excited to coordinate all of the UNLSA’s marketing this year alongside my social media director, Isabella Hudson. I love creating engaging content across social media platforms, and hope to encourage more people to join the UNLSA for events and competitions.
When I’m at NUspace you can generally find me having a coffee on the ground floor. Don’t hesitate to come have a chat!
Vice President (Sponsorship)
As Vice President (Sponsorship) for 2021, I will be the point of contact for the UNLSA’s external correspondence regarding careers and sponsorship. Throughout this year, I intend to foster strong relationships with the legal community and uphold the reputation of UNLSA to ensure our students have positive experiences during Law School and are able to grasp the best employment opportunities when they graduate.
