About the Event

Lets cancel 2020 and start off 2021 with a clean slate! Start semester 1 the right way by signing to compete in the 2021 UNLSA Senior Mooting Competition!

Form a group of three, dress your best and have the opportunity to further advance your advocacy skills. Competing will give participants the chance to be introduced to court-like experiences and to engage in arguments with the opposing team. Competitors will get the chance to prove their client’s innocence or prevent them from being sued whilst impressing local solicitors and judges.

Don’t forget that competing in the UNLSA competitions will be looked upon favourably when applying for intervarsity competitions and other external competitions by Newcastle Law School.

The 2021 UNLSA Senior Mooting Competition is open to registered UNLSA members currently in 3rd, 4th and 5th year LLB students and 2nd and 3rd year JD students (there will be a junior mooting competition in semester 2 for 1st and 2nd year LLB students and 1st year JD students).

Preliminary rounds begin in week 5 and will be held on Tuesday (23rd of March) and Thursday (25th of March). There will be two time slots for both days: 6-7 pm and 7-8 pm.

Registration opens on the 22nd of February and closes on the 7th of March. If you wish to compete with a team of less than three people, you will need to email Charu at Competitions@unlsa.com get approval before signing up.
