My Story
Hi there! My name is Jess and I am one half of your Director of Careers for 2023! Together with Gypsy we make up the Careers portfolio here at the UNLSA and I couldn’t be more excited to deliver bigger and better career related goodness this year.
Let’s get to know each other a bit, shall we? As far as University goes, I’m in my final year of my LLB Honours and Diploma of Legal Practice degree, and have completed a Bachelor of Social Science/Criminology prior to this which fostered a deep love and interest in people, what makes them tick and how we all fit together to make up the world that we live in.
In my ‘spare time’ I split my life between work as a law Clerk in the area of estate planning at a Newcastle firm and fulfilling the role of Student Representative Support Manager at the University of Newcastle Students’ Association. I love that I get to build my professional skills in two very different roles but equally rewarding, and in the case of UNSA- have fun while doing it!
In my role at the UNLSA, I aim to provide students access to a diverse range of careers in law and the legal profession, regardless of what you plan to do after you complete your studies!
